Alexander Kuznetsov first studied electrical engineering at the electromechanical faculty of the Krasnoyarsk Polytechnic Institute in the 1970s.
He became a press photographer and a member of the Union of Journalists in 1991. He is published in many magazines and exhibits at the Russian Museum in Saint Petersburg, at Harvard University in the United States, in Switzerland and in Norway.
He has also had solo exhibitions in France, Germany, Italy, USA, Australia and New Zealand. Between 1986 and 2007, he won numerous international and national photographic festivals.
After a documentary writing workshop organised by Hélène Châtelian, Christophe Postic, Rebecca Houzel and Jean-Marie Barbe, in Kranoïarsk, Siberia, he became a filmmaker.
